What this award is.

The South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) recognize excellence across Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema. The Best Female Debut (Telugu) trophy is given to the year's most notable first-time lead actress in Telugu — voted on by a SIIMA jury and held alongside the Best Actress, Best Director, and other senior categories.

Bhagyashri Borse won the 2025 trophy (recognising 2024 films) for Mr. Bachchan. Her debut was unusual because she dubbed her own Telugu — Telugu cinema typically uses voice artists for non-native leads. Savitha Reddy, the dubbing artist for her later Tamil debut Kaantha, dubs others; Borse handled Mr. Bachchan herself.

What's next.

Industry watchers have flagged her work in Kaantha (2025) and Andhra King Taluka (2025) for the 2026 SIIMA cycle. Lenin and Seyon release in 2026 and become eligible for the 2027 ceremony.
